fucking love this update, im writing this as im watching and miming nicks head beat… i just cant help it. love groovy jams like this, i know you guys could whip out some fun instrumentals. im tim and i thoroughly endorse this video.
I didn’t like it that much. That was really boring. it sounds like “I will posses your heart” by death cab for cutie. I liked the drumming but the eternal guitar loop was exhausting. please bring the “space rock” back into circa!!! (not being rude or anything, just some C.C, I know the new album will be amazing)
I’m so excited for the new album. That jam just sounds like it should be an epic tune, like 8 to 10 minutes haha. Seriously, that bass line is just SCREAMING to have a story told over it.
okay, i’ve decided. more long songs for the new record. we neeeeed them. with or without vocals, it doesn’t matter. you guys have such amazing talent with long songs, but you’ve never really used it, and it’s something i’m really looking forward to about the record. can’t wait to see you guys on tour.
Landscapes. I see mountains, endless water. We’ve met before. I know you, as do you. Meeting a brother for the first time. You already know. I hear shouts, justifiable. The emerging patterns from a formless void – sound escaping, defining lifetimes in the peaks and valleys. A shape against the background space. The negative defines the positive.
you guys have amazing talent I still can’t stop listening to the first two albums and I know it’ll be the same with the third keep up the hard work can’t wait to rock out with you on tour peace
That was so sick, I’d love for you guys to have some like Can/krautrock jams in your guys music. Plus this vibe is a great new feeling for your music. I love this!
the reason that was good was because it reminded me of nothing you’ve ever done before, but closer to the amazing layers you guys had on juturna. I dont understand how someone could find that boring, it gave me a mogwai and almost an explosions impression, the end was interesting but i think that, that direction is the most beautiful way to go.
That was an incredible jam! The heavy bit at the end had me laughing hysterically. It reminded me of something they would do on Tim and Eric. That jam was extremely atmospheric. Even if it doesn’t become a song, it’s a good instrumental track. Sometimes, that’s all it calls for. Can’t wait for the new stuff, guys. Thanks for the art!
dudes, whatever you play it’s awesome, you’re like the perfect band…
great sounds and melodies and awesome lyrics..
hope u come to Chile someday… (the country)
and i hope u can forgive me for downloading your albums but it’s not available here and it’s too expensive for me to buy the albums and get them by plain…
uh, by the way, if you read this… there’s any chance i can send you some songs i’m making so you can help me to finnish them? i think you’ll enjoy them and i don’t have a band right now and i think it would be a shame to waste them, i know you expect just elogies as you should, but if there’s any chance of it, please let me now… yes, dreamin’ it’s free… and sorry but my english it’s not that good yet..
thanks anyway, love your music and good luck, bye
Some of the guitar parts were real nice. The bass was too repetitive. I’m all for longer songs on your next album forever. I feel like the “On Lettings Go” needed a chance to breathe sometimes. Some instrumental interludes like this could be great in between or during songs.
!!!!!osepohI….. And for those of you dissing the repetiveness, you’ve obviously never jammed enough…still luv ya tho… Also im thinking the end had a hint of animals fighting in there…
Add a less uniform bass, make it more groovy and trippy
(with like slow parts, then small bursts of speed followed by continued slow tempo)
then to to drums add like a little bit of hihat jazzy play (open and closed hihat effects)
and then add a second guitar playing something really trippy kind of like in “in the morning and amazing” guitar or like the
Anthony Green “Springtime out the van window”
and it should sound cool.
sorry i dont want be an ass or anything im just trying to be like a friend to u guys.
If you have been in a serious band in which the members have a proper, intimate musical relationship, you’ll know that jams like this are not necessarily meant for the listeners’ pleasure as much as the players’ pleasure. They really weren’t thinking about whether you would like it or not while they were playing it. They were jamming, as per the title. I thank you, Circa, for giving us the privilege of being welcomed into that sacred space. I miss that experience…
I like this for a breakdown sort of thing. And for anybody who thought it was “boring”, not cool! This is part of the song-writing process. Keep up the originality guys.
Amazing. It kind of has a Radiohead feel to it. Makes me feel like I’m drowning, but it’s a peaceful kind of drowning. Almost like you know you’re dying, but you like it, and you want to keep drowning. The last part feels like you come to the realization that you’re about to die, so you struggle to get back to the surface, but it’s too late, and you end up adrift, waiting for someone to discover your body. Very cool.
Once the looping guitar comes to an end and the real playing begins, the first thing that came to mind was Silversun Pickups. Sounds a lot like them, which isn’t bad because they are another great band.
all these ideas are looking extremely promising…its shaping up to be something huge, from what i have heard so far. loving the different instruments and sounds. eagerly awaiting more rad jams.
I agree with like 90% of the people’s post! I just can’t wait for your next albulm b/c it will definately be blasting in my car. I love you guys and keep giving us something to believe in!
I heard a part in the middle of the fast, heavy stuff, and it sounded too good to be improvised. I think you’re trying to sneak some of the album in under our noses
the 7:38-8:00 part brings me back to a juturna kind of feel. even though that isn’t what you all are going for, “going backwards”, that’s the sound that made me fall in love with circa survive.
